Barbara Cox-Winter CPA is the founder and Managing Director for Cox-Winter and Associates. Our practice is focused on high net worth families and their income tax and estate tax matters. While our experience is extensive across many diverse financial disciplines and several industries, we do not try to be all things to all people. Instead we prefer to focus on income and estate tax matters and work closely with experts in other areas (such as investment management, legal issues and family dynamics in succession planning) to assist clients in fulfilling their objectives.
Prior to founding Cox-Winter and Associates, Barbara was Director of Family Office Services for the Los Angeles office of a National Multi-Family Office serving ultra net worth families and their closely held business interests. Barbara's personal clients included celebrities in entertainment and sports as well as the founders/ creative forces of several well known high tech firms. Average client net worth was in excess of $100 million. Barbara has also held positions with the National Tax Group of RSM McGladrey, KPMG Peat Marwick and other large public accounting firms in both New York and Southern California.
Barbara is a licensed CPA in New York and California and has more than 28 years experience providing income tax and estate/trust tax consulting to high net worth individuals and their closely-held business ventures.
She has served on the boards of both private and non-profit organizations. Barbara has been a member of the CEO Leadership Forum- Jewish Federation, CEOs for Literacy Committee and the Women's Business and Professional Group of the Federation. She has volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) in Los Angeles County ( A CASA is appointed by a judge to advocate for a foster child who is under the court's protection because of abuse or neglect.) |
